EMMYS: SHOGUN, HACKS, LEVYS AND LEVITY

Shōgun dominated the drama categories at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, setting a new record for the number of Emmys won by a show in a single year, while The Bear blocked several actual comedy shows and actors from taking home trophies before Hacks reversed the trend with wins for Jean Smart and the show itself.

Other notable winners included Baby Reindeer, Billy Crudup (The Morning Show), Jodie Foster (True Detective: Night Country) and Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown).

Jelly Roll provided the soundtrack to the In Memoriam segment, with an emotional performance of “I Am Not Okay.”

The telecast’s comedy quotient was maintained by father/son hosts Dan and Eugene Levy and nominees Martin Short, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez of Only Murders in the Building, who did their parts to make the three-plus hours seem less interminable than the durations of other recent awards shows.

A complete list of the winners can be found here.
