WATT, SMITH PREPARE TO ROCK BROOKLYN BOWL

Andrew Watt and Chad Smith had so much fun at an impromptu performance last month in the Hamptons that they're getting the band back together for a 9/18 encore at New York's Brooklyn Bowl.

Billed as Smith & Watt Steakhouse in a nod to beloved Big Apple carnivore emporium Smith & Wollensky, the Grammy-winning producer/musician and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer were previously joined by surprise guest Paul McCartney at the August gig at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett.

The Beatles great contributed vocals to a cover of Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World" and his old band's "I Saw Her Standing There." Watt and Smith also covered such tracks as Prince's "Purple Rain" and The Police's "Message in a Bottle" with help from former Saturday Night Live bandleader G.E. Smith and Ivan "Funkboy" Bodley.

Watt is expected to be in the mix for another Grammy run at Producer of the Year, which he won in 2021. In 2024, he's worked on everything from Pearl Jam's Dark Matter to Lana Del Rey's "Tough" and the Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga smash "Die With a Smile."

Tickets for the Brooklyn Bowl show are available here. If you see HITS wandering around the premises, how 'bout buying us a piece of Blue Ribbon fried chicken?
