PULSE UPS MAKURIA TO SVP, A&R

PULSE Music Group has promoted Tizita Makuria to SVP, A&R for both PULSE Music Group and PULSE Records.

Makuria, who was PULSE Records' first hire, works on both the label and publishing sides. One of her crowning achievements was being part of the team that signed "MILLION DOLLAR BABY" rapper Tommy Richman to a joint venture with PULSE and ISO Supremacy.

Makuria joined PULSE in 2022 as VP, A&R. Her roster of artists, writers and producers includes Fallen (producer of Saint Jhn’s “Roses”), DJ Hardwerk (Chris Brown), Verse Simmonds (Doechii) and Tiggi (Don Toliver).

In a jointly issued quote, PULSE’s Scott Cutler, Josh Abraham and Ashley Calhoun praised Makuria’s “positive energy” and passion, adding, “She learned how to A&R in an organic way, paying close attention to everything that happens in the recording studio, and now she’s often pulled by our writers looking for her to give song feedback. She’s got a big career in front of her and we’re pleased to recognize all of her hard work and talent with this well-deserved promotion.”

For her part, Makuria thanked Cutler, Abraham, Calhoun and team, and spoke of feeling “revitalized by being a part of the creative culture at PULSE.”

A salad of locally sourced greens and sprouts was consumed in celebration of the news.
