U.K. CHARTS: SABRINA’S WINNING STREAK CONTINUES

Sabrina Carpenter debuts at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with Short n’ Sweet (Island), while “Taste” leads a trio of her tracks at the top of the singles tally amid a record-breaking week for the artist.

Carpenter's first #1, Short n’ Sweet debuts with 89k—the second-biggest first-week sales for an album this year, behind Taylor Swift’s THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT (EMI), which moved 270k.

Current chart-topper “Taste,” meanwhile, follows Carpenter’s previous #1s “Please Please Please” and “Espresso,” now residing at #2 and #3, respectively. Combining those three, Carpenter has spent 13 weeks at #1 in 2024, the most in a calendar year since Ed Sheeran logged 19 in 2021.

If that weren't enough, Carpenter is the first female artist (and only third overall) to summit the album and singles charts while holding down the top three positions on the latter. Sheeran and Harry Styles did so, too, but at 25, Carpenter is the youngest of 'em all.

Elsewhere on today’s albums tally, Fontaines D.C.'s Romance (XL) is new at #2.

After news of its long-awaited reunion, Oasis has three albums in today’s Top 5. The hits collection Time Flies… (1994-2009) (Big Brother) zoomed all the way to #3, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? is at #4 and Definitely Maybe is #5.

Lainey Wilson has her first U.K. Top 40 with Whirlwind (Broken Bow), at #13. Travis Scott’s 2014 mixtape DAYS BEFORE RODEO (Cactus Jack/Epic), which arrived on streaming services for the first time to celebrate its 10th anniversary, debuts at #15.

Elsewhere on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, “Somedays” (Solotoko) by Sonny Fodera, Jazzy and D.O.D is up two to #14.

There are also three Oasis singles in the Top 20: “Don’t Look Back In Anger” is #16, “Wonderwall” at #17 and “Live Forever” at #19.
