UPDATE: TOP ACTS FIGHT TRUMP'S USE OF THEIR MUSIC

Nobody wants to make beautiful music with Donald Trump, judging by the number of acts who’ve threatened legal action against him for using their songs in his appearances.

The latest is Jack White, who’s royally pissed that a Trump aide used The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” to soundtrack a since-deleted short video of the haggard-looking Republican candidate boarding a plane to a campaign stop.

"Oh... Don't even think about using my music you fascists," White ranted on Instagram. "Law suit coming from my lawyers about this (to add to your 5 thousand others.)"

Earlier this week, the estate of Isaac Hayes obtained an emergency hearing for permission to file a $3m suit against the former president and the far-right group Turning Point for using the Sam and Dave-popularized Hayes co-write "Hold On, I’m Coming" at rallies despite several warnings. The two sides will convene on 9/3 at the Northern U.S. District Federal Court in Atlanta for the hearing.

Beyoncé also got into “Formation” against the fading Trump campaign, issuing a cease-and-desist over use of her song “Freedom" (VP Kamala Harris has been using the track with permission for several weeks). Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung deleted a video that used “Freedom” shortly after Bey’s team brought the hammer down.

And the hits keep coming as Foo Fighters delivered a smackdown to the man from Mar-a-Lago for introducing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to the tune of the Foos' “My Hero" and said that any resulting cash will be donated to the Harris-Walz campaign.

Even Taylor Swift has been thrown into the fray, thanks to Trump's hailing of an entirely fictional endorsement in a Truth Social post that used an AI-generated photo depicting the megastar as Uncle Sam, with the utterly weird caption “Taylor wants YOU to vote for Donald Trump.” Judging by her past actions and statements, she manifestly does not; meanwhile, the Swifties for Harris call on 8/27 raised $120k+ for the campaign.

Similarly, Celine Dion’s reps scolded Trump for using her Titanic smash “My Heart Will Go On” at an event, even mocking his choice on social media by asking “And, really, that song?" We love not-so-thinly-veiled allusions to sinking ships.

Trump is no stranger to being turned down by artists who are just not that into him. The list of his failures on the musical front stretches back years and includes Bruce Springsteen, Rihanna, Phil Collins, John Fogerty, the estate of Tom Petty and Guns N’ Roses.

But hey, at least he's got the late, great Hannibal Lecter.
