BMG NAMES CELINE JOSHUA EVP OF GLOBAL MARKETING

Longtime industry exec Celine Joshua has been named EVP, Global Marketing, for BMG, where she will lead marketing strategy and operations for 20 offices worldwide. Joshua will be charged with divisional responsibility for Digital Marketing, Content, Consumer Insights & Analytics and Marketing Operations.

Joshua was most recently EVP of Commercial Innovation & Artist Strategy at UMG, where she worked closely with acts such as Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, ABBA, Queen, Sam Smith and Elton John.

She has also previously worked at Warner Music Group, Rhino Entertainment, Disney Music, Sony Music Entertainment and Epic Records.

Her new role dovetails with BMG's “Local Where Necessary, Global Where Possible” strategy and the restructuring of its frontline and global catalog businesses.

“These recent changes further enhance our ability to deliver top-tier service to our artists and songwriters on a global scale, and we’re excited to have Celine at the helm of our marketing team," said BMG CEO Thomas Coesfeld, to whom the L.A.-based Joshua will report. "Her sharp digital acumen and artistic instincts will be invaluable in identifying innovative commercial opportunities for our artists, songwriters and music catalog.”

“I’m honored to join BMG at such a pivotal time in the music industry and to work across BMG’s artist roster to create exciting ways for them to connect with fans around the world," added Joshua, who will nevertheless be required to ignore daily calls and emails from HITS.
