THE FACE OFF: SHADY VS. MATHERS
Turns out the 7/12 arrival of The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) doesn't mean we've seen the last of Eminem's villainous alter ego.
On 7/29 Complex will release The Face Off: Slim Shady vs. Marshall Mathers, an 11-minute video pitting Shady against the man behind the moniker. A teaser arrived on Thursday (7/25) depicting the 2024 Eminem arguing with an AI-rendered version of Shady circa 2002.
“I’m back because you got your nuts tucked so tightly between your legs Caitlyn Jenner would be jealous,” Shady tells Mathers, to which he responds, “Are you just allergic to not being an asshole?” Slim remains blasé as Mathers grapples with the reality of offending people all these years. As the clip closes, Shady asks Marshall, "When did you start self-identifying as a little bitch?" before vanishing into thin air, much to the latter's confusion.
The Face Off follows a #1 debut for The Death of Slim Shady (Shady/Aftermath/ Interscope), which sold more than 280k units its inaugural week, ending Taylor Swift's 12-week reign.
