SONY'S ILEY TAPPED FOR MUSIC INDUSTRY TRUSTS AWARD

Congratulations are in order for Sony Music Chairman/CEO Jason Iley MBE, who will be honored with this year's Music Industry Trusts Award.

Iley will accept the award 11/4 at a London ceremony benefiting music-therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins and The BRIT Trust, a core funder of The BRIT School.

At 10 years, Iley’s run as CEO is the longest in Sony Music's history. He's nurtured such homegrown talent as Calvin Harris, Paloma Faith, Mark Ronson, George Ezra, Robbie Williams, Rag’n’Bone Man and recent breakthroughs Central Cee and Myles Smith.

Iley has also overseen the U.K. arm of Sony Music’s award-winning Social Justice Fund, which supports anti-racist initiatives in Britain. Under his leadership, the company has awarded £2.2m in grants to 22 charity partners. Further, he's spearheaded efforts to diversify his own company and offer more opportunities to women in the executive ranks, as well as drawing attention to mental-health issues in the industry.

“Jason's influence on the music industry is exceptional, from propelling legendary artists to the forefront to driving groundbreaking initiatives like the Childcare Support Scheme," said Music Industry Trusts Award committee Co-Chair Toby Leighton-Pope. "His commitment to nurturing talent is commendable, and we are thrilled to honour his accomplishments with the MITS Award."

Iley joins such past MITS Awards recipients as Annie Lennox OBE, Kylie Minogue, Rob Stringer CBE, Emma Banks, Sir Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Sir Lucian Grainge, Michael Eavis CBE and last year’s recipient, WME honcho Lucy Dickins.
