Eric Church, Andre 3000, Norah Jones
The massive Glastonbury is about to get underway in England, but if hard rock is more your speed this weekend, the mighty Metallica (K2 Agency) makes its return to Europe with headlining performances at the Tons of Rock Fest in Oslo (6/26-29) and Hellfest in Clisson, France (6/27-30). Metallica, along with Green Day (CAA), Avril Lavigne (CAA), Lana Del Rey (CAA) and Doja Cat (CAA), will also be featured at the I-Days Festival in Milan (6/26-7/7).
Indeed, it's another busy stretch of live music around the world as Denmark's Roskilde, the biggest festival in Northern Europe, starts Saturday and runs through 7/6. Highlighted by Foo Fighters (WME), SZA and Doja Cat, the outing was launched by two high-school students and a promoter in 1971 as a nonprofit and remains so, donating millions of Danish krone every year to charity.
Elsewhere, heavy metal will be reborn in Vivero, Spain, at the Resurrection Fest (6/26-29), with Avenged Sevenfold (CAA) and Alice Cooper (UTA) topping the bill. Country music descends upon Cadott, Wisconsin, at Country Fest (6/27-29), where Keith Urban (CAA), Eric Church (WME) and Jake Owen (CAA) are the main attractions. Ran-D and Showtek anchor Defcon.1, a giant, harder-styled EDM affair in Biddinghuizen, Netherlands, hosting 65,000 people per day. Andre 3000 and Norah Jones (IAG), meanwhile, lead the eclectic Montreal Jazz Fest (6/27-7/6).
NOW WHAT?
We have no fucking idea.
COUNTRY'S NEWEST DISRUPTOR
Three chords and some truth you may not be ready for.
AI IS ALREADY EATING YOUR LUNCH
The kids can tell the difference... for now.
WHO'S BUYING THE DRINKS?
That's what we'd like to know.
