U.K. CHARTS: TAYLOR STORMS BACK TO #1

Taylor Swift has the longest-running U.K. #1 of her career as THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT (EMI) blocks Charli xcx from hitting the top of the Official Albums Chart.

TTPD earns a sixth nonconsecutive week at #1, boosted by the release of new U.K.-exclusive digital formats including previously unreleased live recordings, and the presence of the Eras Tour across the pond. Midnights spent five nonconsecutive weeks at #1 in 2022.

Capitalizing on the success of the new album and tour, Swift’s 2019 track “Cruel Summer” re-entered the Top 40 of the singles chart at #17.

After taking a lead earlier in the week, BRAT (Atlantic) by Charli xcx lands at #2. It's the pop provocateuse's biggest opening week to date, eclipsing the first-week total of her 2022 chart-topper, CRASH.

Forever (EMI), the 16th set from Bon Jovi, lands at #3 to give the American rockers their 18th Top 10 album and highest-charting in nine years.

AURORA’s What Happened to the Heart? (Decca) is new at #8, while Meghan Trainor debuts at #12 with Timeless (Epic).

The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (KRA/Island) by Chappell Roan cracks the Top 20 for the first time, rising eight spots to #15.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles chart, “Houdini” (Interscope) by Eminem spends a second week at #1. The week’s highest new entry is Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” (Island) at #3. The track arrives just behind her former chart-topper, "espresso," which holds on at #2.

RAYE’s seven-minute “Genesis.” (Human Re Sources) is her 15th Top 40 single, landing at #22.
