EAGLES TAKE FLIGHT AT SPHERE THIS FALL

Hate to say we told ya so, but the Eagles will indeed be the next artists to overtake Sphere in Las Vegas, once Dead & Company conclude their ongoing residency on 8/10.

Don Henley, Joe Walsh and their fellow Irving Azoff-managed cohorts will play eight shows at the next-level venue, beginning 9/20 and wrapping 10/19. The other gigs will take place 9/21, 9/27-28, 10/11-12 and 10/18.

Tickets go on sale to the general public 6/21 and start at $175, although an artist presale will happen beforehand, on 6/18. Travel packages will also be available through Live Nation's Vibee.

There's no word yet on an overall concept or set list for the Sphere extravaganza, but can't you already picture creeping along that dark desert highway with cool wind in your hair? Or riding shotgun with Walsh while his Maserati goes 195? Buckle up!

In related news, Sphere Business Operations President Jennifer Koester has been promoted to president and COO of the venue. "We believe we're just scratching the surface of what's possible with Sphere, and Jennifer's expertise will be essential as we continue to advance our long-term vision for this next-generation entertainment medium," enthused Sphere Entertainment Executive Chairman/CEO James Dolan.
