ATEEZ (pictured) is heading towards its first #1 on the U.K. Official Albums Chart. Eminem is poised to hit the top with his comeback track, “Houdini” (Interscope).
ATEEZ's GOLDEN HOUR : Part.1 (KQ/RCA), the 10th EP from the K-pop boy band, could inch ahead of Taylor Swift on Friday. However, with THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT (EMI) currently less than 1k in sales behind it, the top album spot remains in play.
Becky Hill could claim her first U.K. Top 5 LP with her second set, Believe Me Now? (Polydor), expected to land at #4. Richard Hawley is on his way to a fifth Top 10 solo album with In This City They Call You Love (BMG), new at #5.
Crowded House is at #6 with Gravity Stairs (BMG), while the debut album by MC K-Trap, SMILE? (EGA), is at #7. Fairport Convention co-founder Richard Thompson could have his second solo Top 10 with Ship to Shore (New West Records), at #9.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, “Houdini” has taken a healthy early lead. Should it hold onto its spot until Friday, the track will be Eminem’s 11th U.K. #1 and first in four years. If that is the case, Sabrina Carpenter’s long-running #1, “Espresso” (Island), will fall to #2.
After celebrating his first U.K. Top 10 single last week, British singer-songwriter Myles Smith is up one to #8 with “Stargazing” (RCA).
