Pop the champagne, folks! Donald Trump became the first former U.S. president to be convicted of a felony on Thursday (5/30), when he was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying records in a sex scandal cover-up.
A New York jury of 12 members deliberated for two days in the case, which stems from hush money payments made in 2016 to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to prevent her from discussing an alleged sexual encounter with Trump.
In a case rife with sordid details, accusations of a "rigged" judge and jury and a witness whose actual name is David Pecker, the jury found that Trump and others in his orbit falsified paperwork to disguise the true nature of the transaction.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 11, but Trump's attorneys have vowed to appeal. Buckle up for the long and bumpy ride ahead of Election Day on 11/5...
