BMAC SETS DATE FOR FOURTH ANNUAL GALA

The Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) will hold its fourth annual gala 9/19 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, during which it will honor music biz execs pushing for social justice.

Presented by Live Nation, the gala will also highlight BMAC’s efforts to improve racial equity and inclusion, as well as its programs offering guaranteed income to support young Black creatives.

Honorees and other event details will be announced in a few weeks. The gala will include a “culinary experience” by the Nigerian-American chef Kwame Onwuachi of New York's Tatiana, which is the winner of a prestigious James Beard award.

Previous BMAC honorees have included Lil Baby, Lizzo and the Weeknd for the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award, Congresswoman Maxine Waters for the BMAC Icon Award, Keke Palmer and Kevin Liles for the BMAC Social Impact Award and Jon Platt, Sylvia Rhone and Jermaine Dupri for the Clarence Avant Trailblazer Award.

The BMAC board includes Willie Prophet Stiggers, Caron Veazey, Ashaunna Ayars, Naima Cochrane, Jamil Davis, Shawn Holiday, Damien Smith and Courtney Stewart. Head here for more information.
