CITY OF HOPE RAKES IN $130K WITH CHARITY POKER BASH

City of Hope's Future Hope Committee raised more than $160,000 from its annual All in for Hope Poker Tournament on 5/19 at CAA's Los Angeles headquarters, with proceeds earmarked for treating and curing cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. The gathering was presented by the Natalie Cole Foundation.

As part of the program, late comedian Judy Tenuta's trust gifted another $650,000 to City of Hope and is planning an additional gift in the future. Tenuta, who was represented at the event by actress Kate Linder and comedian Elayne Boosler, died of cancer in October 2022.

Among the participating poker players were Grammy winners Krish Sharma, Tom Syrowski and Theron “Neff-u” Feemster, director Frank Coraci, poker pro Robbi Jade Lew, actress Mimi Rogers and songwriter/performer Justin Jesso.

In the years since industry executives founded City of Hope’s Music, Film and Entertainment Industry volunteer and fundraising group in 1973, the organization has raised more than $150m for disease research and care.

As for us, we can barely remember the difference between a royal flush and a toilet flush.
