STAPLETON, DILLON, McCOLLUM WIN PRE-SHOW ACMs
Chris Stapleton, Jessie Jo Dillon and Parker McCollum were the big winners 5/15 as part of ACM Awards week, leading up to the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards.
The reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and most recent recipient of the Academy’s Triple Crown—in his case Entertainer, New Male Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year—Stapleton was named Artist-Songwriter of the Year, his 17th ACM win. He’s also up for four additional trophies going into Thursday-night’s celebration, including Album of the Year for Higher, Male Artist and Entertainer.
Dillon claimed her first ACM Award for Songwriter of the Year, and McCollum—2022’s New Male—took home Visual Media of the Year for “Burn It Down,” which is also up for Single of the Year. McCollum was surprised onstage by Old Dominion during the ACM Lifting Lives Benefit Concert.
This year's ACMs performers will include host Reba McEntire, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Post Malone, McCollum, Thomas Rhett, Stapleton and Lainey Wilson.
The evening will begin with the Official ACM Awards Red Carpet Show, featuring a performance by New Female Artist of the Year Megan Moroney, at 7pm EDT.
The 2024 ACM Awards will stream live from the Ford Center at The Star on 5/16 on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch.
