SONY MUSIC LATIN INKS MON LAFERTE

Verde, Mon Laferte and Gallardo

Latin Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Mon Laferte has signed with Sony Music Latin. Sony Music Latin-Iberia Chairman/CEO Afo Verde and Sony Music U.S. Latin President Alex Gallardo presented the news to the SML team at the label's Latin-Iberia Regional Conference.

"We are thrilled that Mon Laferte has come to Sony Music," Verde said. "Composer, singer and an exceptional performer—Mon's excellence knows no limits. We are certain that Sony is the perfect place for her to begin the next chapter of her career. Welcome, dear Mon. May this new stage bring you much happiness and many achievements."

Gallardo added: "At Sony U.S. Latin, we are very excited and more than ready to put all our resources and knowledge at the service of Mon Laferte's extraordinary talent. We're confident that what we will achieve together will be unparalleled."

One of the most acclaimed artists to emerge from Latin America, Chilean-born Laferte, who is now a citizen of her longtime home of Mexico, has performed on some of the world's most prestigious stages, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Hollywood Bowl in L.A., Lincoln Center in New York, the National Auditorium in Mexico City and the Movistar Arenas in Buenos Aires and Santiago, as well as at such festivals as Coachella, Austin City Limits, Outside Lands and Mexico City's Vive Latino.

Laferte is currently on her North American headlining tour, produced by Live Nation, which includes a 5/25 stop at Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.

On 8/1 Netflix will release Mon Laferte, te amo, which documents the artist's life on tour.
