MAIS OUI! TAYLOR DEBUTS POETS IN PARIS

Parisian Taylor Swift diehards were in the right place at the right time yesterday (5/9) as the artist restarted her box office-busting Eras Tour with the first of four sold-out shows at La Défense Arena. The evening featured the live debut of numerous songs from the recently released album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, as well as new staging and costume elements.

The show opened as usual with songs from Lover and Fearless but then flipped the order as it moved into Speak Now, Reputation and a newly combined folklore/evermore section.

"I have always talked about folklore and evermore as sister albums," Swift said at her first performance since the tour paused 3/9 in Singapore. "On the Eras Tour, we have reunited the sisters and combined them into one chapter. You can call it 'folkmore,' 'everlore' or you can call it whatever you want as long as you promise to sing 'Champagne Problems' really loud."

The TORTURED reveal came after the 1989 section, with songs such as "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me," "Down Bad," "Fortnight," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived" and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" all performed for the first time. An additional TTPD tune, "loml," made its maiden appearance during the "surprise songs" portion of the show.

Swift will be in Europe through a non-consecutive eight-show run at London's Wembley Stadium in mid-August. Additional North American dates will follow in the fall.

In other news, karma still isn't our boyfriend, despite our best wishes.
