U.K. MIDWEEKS: DUA LIPA SET FOR #1

Dua Lipa is set to secure her second U.K. Official Albums #1 with Radical Optimism (Warner). Over on singles, Sabrina Carpenter (Island) is on track for another week at the top.

Radical Optimism is outselling its nearest rival—Taylor Swift’s THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT (EMI)—two to one at midweek. It will be Lipa’s first album to debut at the top of the chart (in 2020 Future Nostalgia hit #1 in its second week).

Frank Turner is new at #3 with UNDEFEATED (Xtra Mile). The second solo record by Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones, Inevitable Incredible (Ignition), starts at #4.

Scottish indie-pop outfit Camera Obscura could have its first Top 10 with Look to the East, Look to the West (Merge), at #10.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, “Espresso” by Carpenter is set to remain at #1 for a second week. Her closest competition is “Too Sweet” (Island) by Hozier, which is up one to #2.

Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” (American Dogwood/EMPIRE) has risen one berth to #6, and Kendrick Lamar has leapt 42 places with “euphoria” (Interscope) to #9.
