BRUBECK: TAKE 22,000
A vast interactive digital archive encompassing the life and music of seminal jazz innovator Dave Brubeck is now available online for the first time. Drawn from the Brubeck Collection at Wilton Library, located in Wilton, Connecticut, the archive gathers 22,000 items, including unreleased music from the composer-pianist, rare photos, interactive tour maps and song timelines.
Made available on International Jazz Day (4/30), this rich resource shares Brubeck’s legacy with musicians, students, researchers, jazz aficionados and anyone curious about the artist’s broad cultural impact, from his music and family life to his involvement in the 1950s and ’60s Civil Rights Movement.
One of the world’s premier jazz repositories, the Brubeck Collection at Wilton Library is comparable in scope to Duke Ellington’s archive at the Smithsonian, Ella Fitzgerald’s at the Library of Congress and Benny Goodman’s at Yale University.
