Primary Wave has partnered with Crowded House's Neil Finn for a deal including his publishing catalog as both a member of that band and as a solo artist.
The pact, described as a multimillion-dollar deal in the announcement, includes such hits as "Don't Dream It's Over" (which reached #2 on the Hot 100), "Weather With You" and "Better Be Home Soon." It also boasts the material the beloved Kiwi creator penned with his early band Split Enz.
PW's David Weitzman declared the company was "thrilled" to welcome Finn into the fold, adding, "Not only is he a master songwriter, he is the songwriters' favorite songwriter. We look forward to working closely with Neil and his great team at Shelter Management on the next stages of his storied career."
"I look forward to seeing Primary Wave's plan for the ongoing care of my songs," reads a quote from Finn. "I am confident they see the body of my work as music that matters. This deal has been a good while in the making and feels right."
Gravity Stairs, the first new Crowded House album since 2021's Dreamers Are Waiting (and its eighth overall), is due on 5/31 via Lester Records. The group also has a high-profile appearance on tap at Eddie Vedder's Ohana Festival in late September in Dana Point, California.
