Spotify’s first catalog program, Spotify CLASSICS, is back with 100 Greatest R&B Songs of the Streaming Era (2015 to present day). Curated by the platform’s North American editorial team alongside Creative Director, Head of Urban Music, Carl Chery, the collection includes such picks as Beyoncé’s “CUFF IT,” Childish Gambino’s “Redbone” and SZA’s “Good Days.”
Spotify CLASSICS launched in February with 30 Classic Hip-Hop and R&B Albums From the Streaming Era, which ran the gamut from Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly to Cleo Sol’s Mother.
According to the streaming giant, the designation “classic” is “100% qualitative," with a work’s replay value outweighing any success it may have enjoyed on the charts.
