CITY OF HOPE TAPS MARCIANO FOR TOP HONOR

City of Hope will present its Spirit of Life Award to AEG Presents Chairman/CEO Jay Marciano at a gala this fall in Los Angeles. The event will be part of a slate of fundraising gatherings throughout 2024, including Taste of Hope in New York next month, the Future Hope Poker Tournament and Songs of Hope.

"City of Hope is proud to honor the notable contributions of Jay Marciano and celebrate our continued philanthropic partnership with the Music, Film and Entertainment Industry group,” said City of Hope chief philanthropy officer Kristin Bertell. "Jay is recognized as an industry leader who is eager to accelerate City of Hope’s mission and focus on making breakthrough discoveries that move us closer to putting an end to cancer."

"It’s deeply meaningful to be honored for this recognition,” Marciano added. “Our industry’s work contributes to bringing the brightest minds in the world to make breakthrough medical discoveries—discoveries that give back the gift of time to people. I am honored to join this admirable group of Spirit of Life recipients and look forward to continuing the tradition of leaning on music, film and the arts to raise awareness of and funding for City of Hope’s important work against cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases."

"City of Hope’s Music, Film and Entertainment Industry division and its board are so thrilled that Jay has accepted our invitation for him to lead the Spirit of Life campaign to benefit City of Hope," said iHeartMedia EVP and COH Music, Film and Entertainment Industry Group (MFEI) board President Alissa Pollack. "In addition to being a top business leader in our industry, he leads by example through bringing together his professional community for the greater good."

The Spirit of Life Award and associated events have, over the years, raised many millions of dollars to that end. Past honorees have included Shelli and Irving Azoff, Edgar Bronfman Jr., Coran Capshaw, Eddy Cue, Clive Davis, Sir Lucian Grainge, Allen Grubman, Quincy Jones, Rob Light, Monte and Avery Lipman, Doug Morris, Mo Ostin, Bob Pittman, Jon Platt and Sylvia Rhone.
