TIX GOING FAST FOR WEEZER'S BLUE ALBUM TREK

Weezer has a hit on its hands with its Voyage to the Blue Planet Tour, on which the Rivers Cuomo-led band will perform its classic 1994 self-titled debut (colloquially known as The Blue Album) in full. Shows at Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles' soon-to-open Intuit Dome, D.C.'s Anthem and Chicago's Allstate Arena went clean at on-sale, with others not far behind.

The Live Nation-promoted outing, which boasts support from Dinosaur Jr. and the Flaming Lips, begins 6/7 in Birmingham, England. North American dates start 9/4 in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Weezer celebrated The Blue Album with a complete performance last Friday (3/15) at L.A.'s Lodge Room, during which Dominic Fike jumped onstage to help out on "Say It Ain't So." The opening act was Keanu Reeves' Dogstar, with whom the Crush-managed Weezer first played during an infamous 1992 gig at Raji's. Former Weezer bassist Matt Sharp, who played on The Blue Album but left the band in 1998, was also on hand for the festivities.

Meanwhile, we're sorry to report that despite our best efforts, we still don't look just like Buddy Holly.
