Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Morgan Wallen, KAROL G and U2 were among the winners at the 35th annual Pollstar Awards, handed out 2/7 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich was on hand to accept Rock Tour of the Year. Dave Chappelle took the stage after winning Comedy Tour. Veteran agent Howard Rose (Elton John, Jimmy Buffett) was presented with the inaugural Pollstar Lifetime Achievement Award, and Sphere Entertainment Co. Executive Chairman and CEO James Dolan won the first Visionary Award.
Other winners included CAA's Emma Banks for International Booking Agent of the Year, Arthur Fogel for International Promoter of the Year, Austin City Limits for Music Festival (global, with over 30k in attendance), Glastonbury for International Music Festival, Louis Messina for Promoter of the Year and IAG's Adam Kornfeld for Agent of the Year.
The Pollstar Awards are part of the Pollstar Live! conference, which continues today with a conversation between L.A. Clippers chairman Steve Ballmer and Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament. We, of course, won nothing beyond the enduring scorn of the music business.
