LIL NAS X TOUR DOC SADDLES UP AT HBO
Lil Nas X has announced that his tour documentary, Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero, will land at HBO on 1/27. The Columbia artist tweeted the tour poster on Thursday (1/4) with the caption, "Good News World! Long Live Montero. Tour Doc. HBO MAX. January 27. BIG 2024!"
Directed by Zac Manuel and Carlos López Estrada, Long Live Montero follows Lil Nas X (real name: Montero Lamar Hill) for 60 days as he promotes his Montero album on his first global headlining tour. In interviews peppered throughout the film, he discusses his astounding career and experiences as an openly gay performer.
Lil Nas X exploded on the scene with "Old Town Road" f/Billy Ray Cyrus. The song was released independently in 2018 but re-released by Columbia the following year. It spent 19 weeks at #1 and is currently the longest-running #1 song of all time. Other hit Lil Nas X singles include "Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” “That’s What I Want,” “Industry Baby” f/Jack Harlow and “Panini."
Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September. It's being presented by Sony Music Entertainment, HBO Documentary Films and Columbia. Now, if you'll excuse us, we're gonna take our horse to the old town road and riiiiiiiide 'til we can't no more (or whatever).
