Z2 BOOKS MAIDEN’S MIND

Fresh off its most high-profile U.S. gig in years at the Power Trip festival last month, Iron Maiden will celebrate its hit 1983 album Piece of Mind with a massive new art book devoted to the project, in partnership with publisher Z2.

Iron Maiden: Piece of Mind will arrive 11/21. It sports an introduction by indefatigable Maiden manager Rod Smallwood as well as testimonials from Chuck D, wrestler Chris Jericho, director Jonas Akerlund and Anthrax’s Scott Ian. Among the artists and writers bringing new life to each of the album’s nine tracks are Steven Grant, Damien Worm, Sacha Gervasi, John Pearson, Chris Roberson and Alison Sampson. Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson co-wrote the section devoted to the song “Revelations.”

Fans of Maiden’s ever-present straitjacket-clad mascot, Eddie, will enjoy the Oversized Deluxe and Asylum editions, which are housed in a lockable asylum clamshell.

Piece of Mind is the latest release of this type from Z2, following collaborations with Gorillaz, The Doors, The Grateful Dead, Pantera and the estate of Elvis Presley.

Meanwhile, Maiden has a busy 2024 on tap, including tours of Australia, New Zealand, Japan and North America beginning 9/1 in Perth. Dickinson will also tour solo next spring in support of his upcoming solo album, The Mandrake Project, his first since 2005.
