What do Bad Bunny, Janis Joplin and Chris Isaak’s biggest hits have in common? They’re all flying up the Shazam USA Top 100.
Bad Bunny has three tracks among the Top 5 Biggest Movers on Shazam’s stateside chart, beginning with “Monaco” (Rimas) and including his collabs with Feid, “PERRO NEGRO,” and Lunar La L “TELEFONO NUEVO.”
The Biggest Mover, though, is the title track from Joplin’s first solo album after leaving Big Brother and the Holding Company, 1969’s I Got Dem Ol’ Kozmic Blues Again Mama! (Columbia/Legacy). “Kozmic Blues” was featured in the second episode of the second season of Disney+’s Loki.
Film composers Andy and Taylor Newton, aka The Newton Brothers, have found a new audience with their cover of Isaak’s #6 hit from 1991, “Wicked Game,” after covering it for Netflix’s The Fall of the House of Usher.
Janis and the Newtons are proving equally popular among Blighty Shazammers, who are also pointing their phones en masse at Skepta’s tribute to Amy Winehouse, “Can’t Play Myself.”
