UPDATE: It's official. Usher Raymond IV—better known as Usher—is heading to the Super Bowl. Roc Nation and the NFL confirmed the news on Sunday morning (9/23), laying to rest months of rumors surrounding who will perform during the big game.
The Ron Laffitte-managed R&B superstar, who appeared in 2011 at the NFL championship game to perform “OMG” when the Black Eyed Peas headlined, is currently breaking big at multiple radio formats with his latest single, “Good Good” f/Summer Walker & 21 Savage, via L.A. Reid’s mega through Larry Jackson's gamma. (not a label).
Usher rose to fame in the 1990s with the release of his sophomore album, My Way (1997), which spawned the hits "Nice & Slow," "You Make Me Wanna..." and the title track. Its 2001 follow-up, 8701, produced "U Remind Me," "U Got It Bad" and "U Don't Have To Call." The record sold 8m copies worldwide and netted two Grammys.
