SONY PUB, HARLOW WIN BIG AT SESAC MUSIC AWARDS

The 2023 SESAC Music Awards were held in Hollywood Tuesday (9/19). For a second consecutive year, Sony Music Publishing was named Publisher of the Year. Jack Harlow was crowned Songwriter of the Year for the third consecutive time.

“Congratulations to SMP’s songwriters and composers—we are proud to champion your artistry and celebrate your many creative accomplishments over the past year," SMP EVP, Head of A&R Walter Jones said. "I also want to thank SESAC for recognizing SMP’s songwriters and team with these awards.”

“First Class” and “Churchill Downs” by the Range-repped Harlow, “Tennessee Orange” by Megan Moroney, “Thank God” by Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown, “Die Hard” and “Father Time” by Kendrick Lamar were among the songs recognized at this year's ceremony. Other honorees included DJ Dahi, Moroney, Anthony Woart Jr., Patrick "J.Que" Smith, Josh Hoge and Jon Nite.

SMP collected a total of 12 awards for songs like "We Go Up” by Nicki Minaj and Fivio Foreign, "Mercury" by Steve Lacy and “Count Me Out” by Kendrick. We, on the other hand, were counted among the night's biggest losers.
