BILLIE & THE BARBIE EFFECT

Billie Eilish has descended into Barbie madness with the single "What Was I Made For?" (Darkroom/Interscope), which is included on the movie's official soundtrack, Barbie: The Album. After initially debuting at #81 on Spotify's global chart, the song now sits at #3 and has jumped from 2.6m streams to 5.1m virtually overnight.

Ice Spice's "Barbie World" w/Nicki Minaj and Aqua has made it to #1 on Spotify's Top 50 USA chart as of early Thursday, while "What Was I Made For?" sits at #3. Other Barbie songs on the move include Dua Lipa's "Dance the Night" (#8) and Charli XCX's "Speed Drive" (#23).

Written by Eilish and her brother FINNEAS, "What Was I Made For?" was produced by Andrew Wyatt, FINNEAS and Mark Ronson. The track is another melancholic offering from Eilish, who tapped into the film's themes of perceived perfection, feminism and gender roles to write the lyrics.

Barbie had this year's biggest opening at the box office, with more than $162m in the U.S. It grossed $214m in the States in six days. Now if you'll excuse us, we're still trying to figure out what we were made for.
