SUMMER GIRLS

In the midst of opening for Taylor Swift and headlining the first weekend of the sparkly new DTLA concert hall Bellwether, Alana, Danielle and Este Haim, flanked by Columbia execs Betsy Whitney and Jay Schumer, celebrate their 2013 debut album Days Are Gone going gold and single “The Wire” hitting platinum. The label will re-release the LP on its 10th anniversary in September, while the band’s new track “Home” appears on the Barbie: The Movie (Atlantic). After the photo op, the five considered taking in a movie but couldn’t think of anything new to see, so they headed over to Canter’s for kasha varnishkes and matzo brie.
