Madonna has confirmed the North American leg of her Celebration Tour will be postponed. The news comes after a serious bacterial infection sent the Material Girl to the hospital last month. The tour was expected to begin on 7/15 in Vancouver.
Madonna issued a statement on Instagram Monday (7/10) that reads in part, "I'm on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life. My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour...My focus now is my health and getting stronger, and I assure you, I'll be back with you as soon as I can!"
Live Nation plans to announce rescheduled dates as soon as possible. Previously purchased tickets will be valid for the new dates. The tour is currently scheduled to hit Europe in October.
