HIP-HOP AT 50: BUSTA RHYMES NAMED CULTURE CREATORS ICON

Culture Creators, an organization dedicated to honoring Black culture and hip-hop, has bestowed its Icon Award on Busta Rhymes. The Flipmode Squad MC will receive his trophy at the 7th Annual Innovators and Leaders Awards Brunch on 6/24.

"This year's Innovators and Leaders Awards Brunch holds an unparalleled significance as we celebrate the golden, 50th anniversary of hip-hop," Culture Creators founder/CEO Joi Brown said. “We're thrilled to honor exceptional individuals who have profoundly impacted Black culture and hip-hop while also showcasing the enduring power of this global cultural phenomenon. It's a celebration of our triumphs and a testament to the limitless potential of Black culture."

The event will also pay tribute to Chloe x Halle, who will receive the Innovators of the Year Award. Additional recognition will be conferred on Troy Carter for his work in technology, Karl Kani (fashion), Candace Rodney (business), Flau'jae Johnson (sports), Laurieann Gibson (art/dance), Chris Robinson (video/film) and Stephen Hill (television).

Presented by Netflix in partnership with Lexus, Culture Creators' 7th Annual Innovators and Leaders Awards Brunch will take place at the Beverly Hilton's International Ballroom, beginning at 11am PT.
