HOLLY EARNS FIVE L.A. JOURNO NOMS

Our own Holly Gleason (whose fresh recap of the ACM Awards can be found here), is nominated in no fewer than five categories for the Los Angeles Press Club’s SoCal Journalism Awards.

Holly, who recently hit the New York Times bestseller list with Y'all Eat Yet? Welcome to the Pretty B*tchin' Kitchen, the book she co-authored with Miranda Lambert, got nods in the categories of Entertainment Journalist and Criticism of Music, Entertainment News and Entertainment Feature (the latter two for POLLSTAR stories) and Entertainment Commentary on the Arts (for a Library of Congress National Registry of Recordings piece on “Stand by Your Man”).

Other nominees include Variety’s newly promoted Jem Aswad and colleagues Chris Willman and Owen Gleiberman, Alta Journal’s Gustavo Arellano and David L. Ulin, Rolling Stone’s Sam Kestenbaum and Bloomberg Businessweek’s Thomas Buckley, to name but a few.

You can find a complete list of nominations here. The winners will be announced 6/25 at the Los Angeles Press Club SoCal Journalism Awards gala at L.A.'s Millennium Biltmore. Tickets can be had here.

In related news, everyone else on the HITS editorial staff has received a participation trophy.
