ALLEN DROPPED BY LABEL, MANAGEMENT, AGENCY, CMA FEST AFTER ASSAULT ALLEGATIONS (UPDATE)

Country star Jimmie Allen has been suspended by his label, BBR Music Group, management company The Familie, agency UTA and CMA Fest following the 5/11 filing of sexual-assault charges by a former member of his management team.

“In light of today’s allegations against Jimmie Allen, BBR Music Group has decided to suspend all activity with him, effective immediately,” reads the label's statement.

The suit, filed anonymously, alleges that Allen used his status to "harass and abuse" his day-to-day manager and that the latter was fired when she spoke up about it. The management company, Wide Open Music, and head Ash Bowers are also named in the filing. According to published reports, Bowers responded that he dissolved WOM's relationship with Allen once the firm learned, last October, of the accusations contained in the suit.

In a response, Allen asserted that while he did have a sexual relationship with the manager, it was consensual, and he pledged to defend himself vigorously against the charges.

Stay tuned for updates.
