WHAT IT IS: Albert Walker Mondane, aka Sauce Walka, is an American rapper/songwriter from Houston. His latest project, Sauce Ghetto Gospel 3, which dropped late last year, debuted at #11 on the Heatseekers chart. He capped off 2022 by landing on lists like the Houston Press’ “Best Albums out of Houston” and Complex’s “Best Rap Verses” for a freestyle he shared online. The rapper—widely credited for popularizing the modern usage of the word “drip,” which he uses extensively in his lyrics—will release his next album later this year. He’ll also be heading out on tour with Conway the Machine this spring/summer.
