The Recording Academy has announced an update to the eligibility period for the 66th annual Grammy Awards, 10/1/22–9/15/23, two weeks longer than what was established in early March.
"After listening to concerns from members of the music community, we have decided to amend the end date of the previously announced eligibility period," reads a statement from Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. "We care about the impact of this date change on our community and make this adjustment in the spirit of partnership and collaboration."
Mason further explained that the initial, shorter eligibility period was intended to benefit the awards process and provide flexibility throughout Grammy season, specifically as regards the nominations-announcement timeline and booking of the Grammys telecast, Premiere Ceremony and Recording Academy Honors Presented by the Black Music Collective.
