TAG, THEY'RE IT! SHAZAM'S BIGGEST MOVERS

New singles ride high on the Shazam USA Top 100 this week, but it’s a remix of a 36-year-old Depeche Mode song that’s ruling the U.K. and U.S. charts, just edging out the latest from Miley Cyrus.

The Digitalism remix of Depeche Mode’s “Never Let Me Down Again” (Sire), a Top 10 hit in Europe in the mid-1980s, is the most-Shazammed song in the U.S. and U.K. following its use on the debut episode of HBO’s The Last of Us. The sync comes one year after a use of the original version on another HBO series, Euphoria.

Grabbing the attention of Shazammers in almost equal measure is Cyrus’ “Flowers” (Columbia), the third-most-Shazammed song of the week in the states and #4 in the U.K.

Three other new releases flesh out the Top 5 Biggest Movers in the U.S.: the Bizarrap & Shakira collab on Dale Play; Oscar Maydon & Junior H’s “Fin de Semana” (Rancho Humilde) and Moneybagg Yo & GloRilla’s “On Wat U On” (CMG/N-Less/Interscope).

Meanwhile, the U.K. Top 20 Biggest Movers list is populated by older songs from Harry Styles, Yello, Adele, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Yes, some Brits are not sure who recorded “Free Bird.”
