MINISTRY OF SOUND ORDAINS POWERS

DJ, producer and A&R exec Anton Powers has joined Sony Music U.K.’s Ministry of Sound as head of A&R.

Powers was most recently at Warner Records, where he spent three years. Among his signings was LF System, which had an eight-week stint at the top of the U.K.'s singles chart in 2022 with “Afraid to Feel.” He also co-signed Eliza Rose, who topped the chart with “B.O.T.A. (Baddest of Them All).”

Powers will report to Dipesh Parmar, president of Columbia Records U.K., who said, “Anton lives and breathes dance music and is well respected on the scene. He's at the top of his game and I’m confident he is the best person to help Ministry of Sound continue to sign and develop the artists of the future.”

During his career as an A&R exec, which has spanned roles at Universal's 3Beat and a prior stint at Ministry of Sound, Powers has also signed Armand Van Helden, Martin Solveig, Kungs, Sigma, Duck Sauce, Philip George and M-22.

He's also established himself as a DJ and producer, performing at festivals like Tomorrowland and Creamfields. Powers has racked up more than half a billion worldwide streams for his own releases, including Top 5 hit “Alone No More” (3Beat).
