YMU Music has named Sophia Margerison global business development director. Based in London and L.A., she will report to YMU Global President Matt Colon.
Margerison will be tasked with recruiting artist managers, broadening and diversifying the company’s roster and helping oversee the global representation of YMU clients.
Prior to joining YMU, she was head of live-music partnerships at Pollen, where she worked on Bring Me the Horizon's successful four-day festival in Malta. Margerison also has history at Virgin EMI as a senior A&R executive and spent eight years as an agent at United Talent in L.A., repping acts like Kelis, Estelle and Manic Street Preachers.
“Sophia’s extensive and nuanced understanding of both music executives and the artists who drive the music business is an invaluable asset that will help YMU continue to grow,” Colon said.
