Lucas Keller's Milk & Honey has tapped Australasia music vet Milly Petriella to take on the dual role of managing director of Australia-New Zealand and director of cultural and social responsibility.
Reporting to M&H Head of International Peter Coquillard and Keller, Petriella will work to sign new talent to the Australasia division, with a focus on developing and mentoring female producers as well as expanding and supporting diversity within the songwriter and producer community.
Petriella comes to M&H after a 27-year stint as director of membership relations & partnerships at APRA AMCOS, where she created and championed programs tailored to the needs of the company's 111k+ writer and publisher members. She also oversaw high-profile writers like Sia, Troye Sivan, Dean Lewis, Tones and I, 5SOS and Colin Hay.
Said Keller, “Milly has been a friend of M&H for many years, so it’s with great pleasure that I welcome her to the family. She is one of the most beloved executives in Australia and New Zealand by songwriters and artists, and we could not think of a better way to upgrade our Sydney presence. Diversity has been important to M&H since day one internally, but we’ve felt a calling to appoint someone to make sure we’re focusing on diversity on our roster and in the community. Milly will ensure that M&H’s staff and clients are focused on opening paths for diverse talent to join our organization, that we're pushing for inclusion of more women, people of color, LGBTQ+ people and folks from other cultures and countries around the world.”
Keller celebrated the company's Aussie investment with a vegemite sandwich.
