UMPG TAPS CHAVEZ

Cristina Chavez has joined Universal Music Publishing Group as Vice President, A&R. The former Hallwood Media exec reports to David Gray, EVP and Head of U.S. A&R at UMPG.

“Cristina’s experience as a manager, her strong relationships with talent, and her love of songwriters and songwriting make her a perfect fit for UMPG and our writers,” Gray said. Chavez will work with songwriters on UMPG’s existing roster as well as sign new talent.

Chavez was an SVP of A&R and Management at Hallwood Media where she led projects for Chller (writer of The Game’s “Eazy”), Needlz and Dimitri McDowell. Prior to that she worked at ASCAP where she orchestrated initiatives with Women Behind The Music and She Is The Music, and hosted high-profile activations with Tierra Whack and Rico Nasty, among others.
