SELFIE PORTRAIT

During the 1/26 preview event for Artists Inspired by Music: Interscope Reimagined, an exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, UMG topper Sir Lucian Grainge joins biz icon Jimmy Iovine, Interscope boss John Janick, label Vice Chairman Steve Berman and artist Lana Del Rey to create exactly the sort of artifact we like to hang on the walls around here.

The event drew a throng of top artists, bizniks and other cultural movers and shakers, who viewed artworks inspired by Interscope releases. Cecily Brown, Julie Curtiss, Shepard Fairey, Lauren Halsey, Damien Hirst, Rashid Johnson, Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, Ed Ruscha and Kehinde Wiley were among the visual artists with works on display. The exhibition was spearheaded by Iovine, Janick, Berman and music exec Josh Abraham.

Later, the group pictured here ducked out to visit LACMA's permanent collection of Greek ceramics; a decorative amphora depicting a battle scene, dated 520 B.C., was declared "dope" but in need of a pre-chorus.
