BAD BUNNY, RODRIGO TOP SPOTIFY'S 2021 WRAPPED

Spotify unveiled its 2021 Wrapped Wednesday.

Bad Bunny was once again the platform's biggest global artist, earning 9.1 billion streams this year. The Latin superstar didn't release an album in 2021, but the sextuple-platinum El Último Tour del Mundo dropped in late November 2020. Taylor Swift was the most-streamed female artist on the Spot in 2021, ranking #2 overall.

Olivia Rodrigo finished at #1 on both the Songs and Albums global Top 10. "drivers license" was the platform's biggest song, with 1.1b streams this year, while SOUR (Geffen) was Spotify's most-streamed album.

As for domestic action, Drake was the most-streamed artist in the U.S., followed by Swift and Juice WRLD. Rodrigo had the two biggest songs in the U.S. in 2021 with "drivers license" and "good 4 u."

Perhaps the most exciting part of the streamery's Wrapped campaign is its reflection of users and artists' sharing of their own listening habits on social media. #SpotifyWrapped is the #1 trending topic on Twitter this morning. Instagram is flooded with artist metrics and user listening data.

Artists can share total hours streamed, increases in listener numbers, how their top track performed around the world and other major milestones, at the Spotify for Artists microsite, here.
