What could be a better pre-Thanksgiving treat than a new Adele album?
30 (Columbia) has been #1 at iTunes since the clock struck midnight on Flipover Friday and was #2 at Apple Music eight hours after its release. Lead single “Easy on Me” continues to be #1 on the streaming side, while album opener “Strangers by Nature” is the first track to climb into Apple Music’s Top 20. Songs are appearing on the chart in the order they appear on the album, an indication that listeners are hitting play and chilling.
On the sales side, “Easy on Me” is #7 as catalog entries “Hello,” “Make You Feel My Love,” “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You” return to the Top 40. 25 is #8, 21 is #11 and 19 is #20.
There are other albums being released today, led at #3 by Robert Plant & Allison Kraus’s Raise the Roof (Rounder), a reunion 14 years after their Grammy-winning Raising Sand. The deluxe edition of Sting’s The Bridge (A&M) enters at #10.
Taylor Swift’s 10-minute version of “All Too Well” (Republic), released Monday, is #2 at Apple Music and iTunes. State of Mine & Drew Jacobs’ “God’s Country” (Noise Machine) is #1 at iTunes.
