MONAHAN EXITS SPOTIFY (UPDATE)

Spotify Head of Global Hits Ned Monahan—who programs the Today's Top Hits playlist—will be exiting the company to join Joie Manda's new Encore label, details of which can be found here.

Monahan is currently the most powerful playlist gatekeeper in the world. A search has begun for his successor, who will report to Global Head of Editorial Sulinna Ong. Ong, of course, was recently appointed by Global Head of Music Jeremy Erlich, whose mustache also has its own playlist.
