Halsey’s film If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power will debut Thursday on HBO Max in the U.S.
HBO Max acquired the film after a limited theatrical run in IMAX theaters, where it pulled in nearly $1m by selling out in 70+ theaters around the world.
Set to the music of Halsey’s fourth studio album for Capitol, it presents the story of Queen Lila (Halsey), whose pregnancy unlocks a paranormal power to create life (and destroy it). The singer/songwriter wrote the horror-tinged fairytale, which explores the labyrinth of sexuality and birth.
Two days after the film premieres, Halsey will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, her fourth time on the show.
