Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Keith Urban and Reba McEntire were among the star-studded lineup for Loretta Lynn’s Friends: Hometown Rising on 9/13 at the Grand Ole Opry.
With donations still underway via text-to-donate, auction items and partners like MX Sports, City National Bank and the ACM—who matched $25k of fan donations in honor of Lynn’s recent Poet’s Award—the $933k and counting will directly benefit the residents of Waverly, surrounding areas and local small businesses of Humphreys County.
The two-hour benefit and concert drive, hosted by Storme Warren and Nada, also saw performances from Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Chris Janson, Little Big Town, Brittney Spencer and BREELAND, who made his Opry stage debut, as well as recorded performances from Tracy Lawrence, Carly Pearce, Thomas Rhett, Kid Rock, Darius Rucker and Carrie Underwood.
“While we shared some heartbreaking images and footage from our hometown, what I saw in those moments was the resilience people have shown amid so much loss. We’ll all be okay as long as we continue to help one another,” said Lynn.
Lynn has also partnered with Kendra Scott, which will donate 50% of proceeds from the sale of their Tennessee Guitar charm throughout the month of September to United Way of Humphreys County. Commemorative show posters are also available with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the cause.
