UMG is gearing up for the release of Karma’s World Original Soundtrack, the album for Netflix's animated series created by Grammy-winning rapper/actor/producer Ludacris.
With the soundtrack and series set for release on 10/15, the show features voices from Tiffany Haddish, Danielle Brooks, Jordan Fisher, Dawnn Lewis and Dascha Polanco as well as Ludacris. Produced by Karma’s World Entertainment and 9 Story Media Group, episodes will debut on the streaming service throughout 190 countries in 21 languages.
Ahead of the premiere, Ludacris shared the music video for the show's theme song, “Welcome to Karma’s World,” performed by himself and SinceThe80s/Motown artist Asiahn (Karma) via Netflix Futures.
“UMG has been my partner on all my albums since day one and it’s very fitting that they are with me as I unveil the music from my new animated Netflix series, which has been a labor of love for over a decade and inspired by my eldest daughter,” said Ludacris, who released nine studio albums through his label Disturbing Tha Peace and Def Jam under the UMG umbrella. “As a girl dad to four daughters, I am so proud of the music in this show, which inspires creative confidence in kids and encourages them to embrace their full authentic selves.”
In addition to original music performed on the show by Asiahn and Ludacris—who plays the role of “Dad”—it also includes contributions from castmates Ramone Hamilton (Crash), Aria Capria (Switch), Kaila Mullady (Switch – beatboxing) and Camden Coley (Keys).
